Are you only focused on helping students looking at elite and Ivy League schools?

Absolutely not! We’re proud to support students interested in all kinds of schools -- liberal arts colleges, research universities, military colleges, HBCUs, LGBTQ-friendly campuses, single-sex institutions, as well as highly selective and Ivy League schools. Our greatest achievement is seeing students get into the school that’s the right fit for them.

When is the right time to begin my child's college action plan with College Coach?

We can support your family no matter where you are in the process. In general, we like to say earlier is better since starting in 9th grade allows us to provide guidance to plan efficiently for things like curriculum and extra curricular activities. But we also have great success targeting our support to help families who come to us during a student’s senior year.

What's the difference between a guidance counselor and a College Coach admissions advisor?

Guidance counselors will of course be important to your student’s college process. But they’re often stretched thin and are generally off during the summer when the Common Application is launched and essay writing should begin. Also, unlike College Coach’s team of consultants, guidance counselors have generally never sat in the decision-maker’s chair at a college.

What types of students use College Coach?

We work with students from all 50 U.S. states and nearly 40 different countries.. They come from public school, as well as parochial, private day, boarding, and home-school environments.

What services and packages are available?

College Coach has packages based on the time you need and the particular services you’re looking for. We also offer targeted assistance for those looking to transfer schools, apply to American colleges from outside the U.S., or are looking for guidance on paying for and financing college. Visit our services page for more details

What makes College Coach different from other college admissions advising services?

We’re not just one advisor – we’re a whole team of former admissions and college finance officers from schools across the country, all of whom are now full-time employees of Bright Horizons College Coach. So in addition to consulting one-on-one, your advisor can tap into our unique knowledge base for instant insights on tricky subjects or particular schools. Plus, we’ve been doing this for more than 20 years, and every single one of our students has gotten an admissions offer – most into one of their top-choice schools. Above all, our promise includes a strict code of ethics, meaning our services never compromise our integrity, or yours.

What is your affiliation with Bright Horizons?

College Coach is one of the Bright Horizons family of services provided both direct to families and through employers. For more information about the employee benefit, please visit brighthorizons.com.

What is the parents' role in guiding their child through the college admissions process?

Our goal is to have your child own the process. Most meetings will be between advisor and student. That said, we understand this is your investment, and we are always available by phone, email, or in person (where available) to answer questions or address concerns.

What is the cost of College Coach services?

Cost depends on the package you choose, your child's year of graduation, and your individual needs. You can get specifics by filling out this form. We’ll respond with pricing within one business day.

Why pay for a college admissions counseling service?

Most guidance counselors are working one counselor to literally hundreds of students at a time. A College Coach consultant is focused on your student, one-on-one, providing dedicated help and guidance through every aspect of the admissions process; college lists, essay, applications, finances...everything. Plus, by helping students find their best college matches, our services ensure your tuition money is well spent.

What if we don’t live near a College Coach Office?

College Coach serves students and parents wherever they are – around the country and around the world. We’re available by phone, Skype, conference call, screen-share, and other virtual methods, as well as in-person where available (find our locations here). Many families use a combination of these methods in order to best fit their busy schedules. Wherever you are, we can help.

My employer offers College Coach as a company sponsored benefit. How do I access my benefit information?

In many cases, College Coach can assist with the graduate school application process or refer you to one of our trusted partners. Please fill out our contact page and our sales director will reach out with additional details and pricing.

How would College Coach help my child with deadlines?

Consultants not only help students create an organized, achievable application schedule; they also check in on progress to keep them accountable and on track. By breaking up the task into manageable pieces, families usually find that working with a College Coach expert saves them time. A fringe benefit? Many tell us that having an unbiased third-party assist in this process minimizes parent-child conflict during this extremely stressful time.

How flexible are your consultants when it comes to scheduling?

Our experts work full time for College Coach and keep flexible calendars to accommodate busy student and family schedules.

How can College Coach help my child?

Bright Horizons College Coach experts are uniquely knowledgeable because they’ve all worked as admissions and college finance officers. That gives them firsthand knowledge of how schools make decisions. For you, that translates to less guessing and more confidence in every step, from course selection in early high school, to admissions tasks – essay, interviewing, and more – when it’s time to apply. Just as important, the focus is on your student; our one-on-one guidance is based on your child’s goals, achievements, and preferences. Visit our services page or speak with a sales director to get more information.

Does College Coach offer consulting on financial aid and college tuition planning?

Yes! College Coach has a staff of former college finance officers who can work with you to evaluate your family’s resources and create a strategy for how to pay for college, look for scholarships, and effectively pursue financial aid.

Can we meet with the advisor before we commit?

Yes. We want your advisor to be the right match for your needs and your child’s personality. Please contact us to discuss our offerings and to discuss how we can help.

What if I’m not ready just yet? Do you have any free resources I can explore?
