My Background

I became interested in the college admissions process after serving as a student tour guide in the admissions office of my alma mater. After graduating, I accepted an admissions counseling position at Bennington College in Vermont where I evaluated applications and reviewed art portfolios from students across the country. Three years later, after pursuing my master's degree in New York City, I joined the admissions staff at Barnard College where I served as a senior admissions officer. At Barnard, I directed Long Island and Boston recruitment in addition to managing the College's alumnae interview program, coordinating admissions statistics, and editing various college publications. Having also served as an alumni interviewer for Dartmouth College and visited over 75 colleges, I feel especially well-equipped to help students prepare for admission interviews and campus tours.
What distinguishes College Coach and Elyse from some other companies we interviewed is that College Coach values what each student brings to the table.

Why I Joined College Coach

Every student has a story to tell. Whether or not they can see their own unique qualities, I believe there is something special about every student. At College Coach, I love having the opportunity to counsel students from freshman year onward, empowering them to find their voices and identify their personal strengths. By making smart choices when selecting high school courses, pursuing extracurricular activities, and engaging in summer experiences, students will have the opportunity to show college admissions committees what’s meaningful in their lives. And when it’s all topped off with a thoughtful and creative application essay, a student’s story will absolutely shine through! I am honored to help my students realize their dreams, and I am passionate about arming them with insider knowledge so they can make the best impression and improve their chances of admission.
